Talk about a close shave... Bikers charged by buffalo in the Baviaans


Cape Town - Buffalo are notorious for being super aggressive and deadly, especially lone-ranging 'dagga boys'...

This is a lesson two bikers from KwaZulu-Natal recently learnt the heart-racing way when they were riding in the iconic Bavaiaanskloof Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape. 

Roger Purchase and Les Davis even made a video following the close shave with the angry buffalo, saying they 'co-starred' alongside the dagga bull buffalo - a playful take on an incident that could have ended very differently... 

Davis managed to capture the charging buffalo on camera gear strapped to his helmet.  

The buffalo, after being cornered on the thin stretch of road by the two unsuspecting bikers, races past Purchase in front. As it comes running past Davis who is driving behind his mate, it looks like the buffalo wants to take a stab at the motorbike Davis left laying on the ground in an escape attempt!

The two men escape unscathed, but commenters on YouTube are suggesting the two might have needed a change of underwear following the drama...
